Hello . . . I’m back! Yes, I’ve left you hanging for a long time . . . that wasn’t very thoughtful of me now was it? Sorry about that! O.K., so let’s see what kind of unfinished business we have here . . .
First, yes, I know I still owe you the remaining 2 strategies to increase your Internet presence and to really start to brand yourself. I promise that is forthcoming.
Second, I also know that my last post, “Are Your Actions Consistent with Your Dreams” took a tangent of elaborating on the “Your Dreams” part, without really discussing the main topic, the “Are Your Actions Consistent” part. I suppose that was an inadvertent, yet necessary sojourn.
The truth is that knowing your dreams and keeping them near and dear to your heart is truly the best way to remain focused so that your actions, in fact, do remain consistent wit your dreams. And, remember, this part especially is as much, if not more, for me as it might be for you.
Perhaps the biggest thing I have become aware of is the number of distractions available that distract us from remaining focused on our dreams. In fact, you are undoubtedly sitting in front of it right now; your computer. A great and wonderful tool, while at the same time the king of all distractions. How ofter during the day do you check your email? How many times do you find yourself surfing? Oh, I just want to look one thing up; and before you know it, it’s 2 hours latter.
As a self-employed entrepreneur; that’s redundant, isn’t it? Well, I included the phrase “self-employed” to make the point that as an entrepreneur you are self-employed, and as someone who is self-employed, so too are you an entrepreneur. As such, the key phrase you and I need to master is self-discipline.
Oh MAN, is this so much about what I need to do!!! Too many hours are lost, wasted, never to be seen again because I lacked self-discipline and self-control; another great activity to master.
Personally, I find that my most productive time is when I have my list and stick to it. Work on it in the evening; putting down everything you didn’t get down during the day and everything you want to accomplish over the next 24 hours. As I go through my next 24 hours I take great pleasure to cross off the tasks that I completed.
Time Killers to avoid:
- Have a set time, twice a day, to check email. Exit the program all other times.
- Exhibit great self-discipline to avoid surfing.
- Avoid spending extended periods of time getting prepared, just get to work.
- Set specific break times to regroup, get recharged, and become refocused.
That’s it from me for right now.
What are your thoughts? Anything you have to offer would not only help me and other readers, but by stating them, like I have done here, could very well help you to Keep Your Actions Consistent with Your Goals!
And, oh yeah! I am feeling much better now that I have accomplished this goal!
